Nancy Allen was announced on April 29th as the Runner-Up in this year's La Crosse Symphony Orchestra Conductor Wannabe fundraising campaign! Nancy and her amazing friends donated the proceeds from two performances at the Sweet Beats Dessert and Jazz Lounge in March and April to help raise funds for LSO and Karuna Inc. She raised $32,635 and received a check on behalf of Karuna Inc. for $16,317!!!!

And if you missed her Sweet Beats performances, don't worry! As the runner-up for the Conductor Wannabe campaign, she'll be conducting with the LSO on Saturday, May 2nd, starting at 7:30pm.
In the spirit of collaboration and community, the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra has introduced the seven community teams competing for the opportunity to conduct the orchestra this spring. This fundraiser pairs "Conductor Wannabes" with non-profit organizations that will receive half of the money they each raise during the campaign.

Each “vote” was a minimum of $2.00 – one dollar going to the LSO and the other dollar going to the candidate’s chosen charity. The winner and runner-up with the most “votes” will make their conducting debuts with the LSO on May 2, 2026.
